Being a landscape designer and installer for 17 years, I have seen a shift or changes in the environment. The change is a lack of pollination in our gardens, especially in our veggie gardens.

I started noticing a subtle difference about 7 years ago and it has increasingly become more of a issue the last 3 years. This is what propelled me to take action regarding creating awareness and actually making strides in developing landscapes that are designed to attract more pollinators that include Bees, Butterflies and Birds. You may also call this style of gardening a “Habitat Garden”.
Every garden or landscape should have a variety of bee and butterfly attracting plants.
Not only does this method add lots of color and beauty to the landscape, It also helps the environment and your community. By adding native bee and butterfly attracting plants and using Organic methods for pest control and fertilizers, you are doing your part to protecting and increasing our local bee and butterfly habitats. Oh!! …. and birds too.
My friend, colleague & Bee expert Shelley Rice and I work together on educating people on the importance of bees and together we design and install gardens with bee hives to residents, restaurants, community gardens, commercial properties or even nature centers.
Now is the time to plan your garden or landscape. Let me know if you would like some help with your new landscape and maybe you would like to add a bee hive that suits your needs.
