Portia and her team helped transform our backyard into a beautiful, tranquil getaway. They covered it all: design, hardscape, softscape, drainage, irrigation and even playground fill. We were so pleased not only with their work, but the experience of working with them. Portia was so knowledgeable, accommodating, responsive and personable – it was fun and easy working together! Her team was very professional and helpful. She was able to capture and create the feeling we wanted, drawing in and using existing features and being highly aware of using products and plants that worked well for not only our yard, but our children, animals, lifestyle, and budget. It is truly a little urban oasis, which has been complimented time after time. We love spending time in it and only wish Houston weather allowed us even more time to do it!

Our new home came with a lot of healthy azaleas, but only azaleas and so the yard was quite boring. Being a longtime avid gardener myself, it was very important to me to be able to have a lot of input for the plans to landscape our yard. I was impressed with the variety of landscaping projects in Portia Leyendecker’s portfolio, and after meeting with her at my home felt secure that she could do the job well for me. While incorporating many of my priorities for my yard, she introduced her own good ideas for a sound and cohesive design. Once the project commenced, I found Portia to be diligent and careful about detail and quality of the work. The result is a garden which is truly full of delightful plants that we will enjoy for years to come. Even in the dead of winter and with it being a new yard, it is colorful and interesting. I have already received many compliments from neighbors and visitors. I know as we head into warmer and sunnier weather it will become even nicer and will be a garden we will enjoy greatly.
